(Bloomberg) -- Ecuador was hit by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake near the border with Peru on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The country’s president Lenin Moreno said preliminary reports showed no signs of major damages.

The earthquake was reported 132km east-southeast from the town of Palora, followed by a magnitude 5.5 quake 15km south-east of Duran and another one of the same magnitude near the coast.
