Italy and Trade Top Euro Area Risks With ECB Set to Meet: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- While economists in a Bloomberg survey are split on whether a QE end-date announcement will come this week or next month, one thing we can expect out of Thursday’s ECB meeting is new macroeconomic projections. These are produced jointly with national central bank staff members and come at a time of rising trade tensions globally. The highest risks to the euro-area outlook are the recent political uncertainty in Italy and trade spats between the U.S. and other countries, followed by signs of a slowdown in economic momentum, according to the survey.
