T. Rowe’s Baltimore Headquarters Evacuated for Suspicious Vehicle

(Bloomberg) -- More than 1,000 people were evacuated from the Baltimore headquarters of T. Rowe Price Price Group Inc. on Monday as police and fire officials investigated a suspicious vehicle, a company spokesman said.

“It’s an ongoing investigation” but there’s no connection between the vehicle and T. Rowe as far as the company knows, spokesman Brian Lewbart said. Trading operations were shifted to other facilities and “we continued to serve our clients.”

The fund company’s downtown employees were told they could go home early in the afternoon, according to Lewbart.

No bomb was detected, Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young said in a tweet. The evacuation was ordered after a report that an abandoned vehicle with more than 1,000 gallons of gasoline was discovered in the company’s parking garage, the Baltimore Sun reported.
