Current Market Update

A Subdued Start Likely

Good Morning!

Indian equity markets have gained in 11 out of the last 12 trading sessions, after closing higher for the third straight day on Tuesday.

Despite facing some resistance at higher levels, both S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 managed to register a record closing high.

The Nifty is now just over 100 points away from hitting the 13,000 mark. However, F&O data for the November 19 expiry suggests that the 13,000 Call strike has close to 40 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Futures are indicating a flat start to today's trading session. The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of the Nifty 50 Index’s performance in India, was little changed at 12,893 as of 8:05 a.m.

Stocks that are in the F&O Ban for today's session are BHEL, Canara Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSPL, LIC Housing Finance, SAIL, Sun TV and Tata Steel - which was the top Nifty gainer on Tuesday. The other major Nifty gainer - Tata Motors is now out of the F&O Ban.

Asian markets are mixed in mid-week trading with benchmarks in Japan declining and were little changed elsewhere.

Futures on the Dow Jones are currently trading lower by 60 points. The index ended 0.6% lower on Tuesday.

West Texas Intermediate crude fell 0.6% to $41.2 per barrel.
