U.S. Labor Movement Makes Some Noise With 2018 Stoppages

(Bloomberg) -- Some 485,000 U.S. workers were involved in 20 major strikes and lockouts last year, the largest number since 1986, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Friday. The education field led the charge with stoppages by teachers and staff in Arizona, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kentucky, Colorado, North Carolina and Washington accounting for 90 percent of the total number of workers affected.
