Philippines to Fly Citizens Out of Hubei as Virus Deaths Rise

The Philippines will repatriate Filipinos who plan to leave Wuhan City and the rest of Hubei province as deaths from the coronavirus outbreak rise.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is making available flights from Hubei, it said in a statement. Upon arrival in the Philippines, Filipino repatriates will be subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine, it said.

There are about 300 Philippine nationals in Hubei, half of them are in Wuhan, the center of the virus outbreak, CNN Philippines reported, citing Philippine Ambassador to China Chito Sta. Romana.
