Even as consumer inflation rose to a six-month high because of rising food prices, wholesale inflation cooled in April.
Inflation measured by the Wholesale Price Index fell to 3.07 percent in April from 3.18 percent in the previous month, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce. A Bloomberg poll of economists had estimated the WPI inflation, which tracks changes in the price of goods in stages before the retail level, at 3 percent.
