(Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve officials updated their assessment of the U.S. economy by tweaking the language in their latest Open Market Committee statement. They liberally used the word “strong,” or a variation, after their June statement described economic activity as “rising at a solid rate.” The Fed left the benchmark interest rate unchanged while reiterating their plan to gradually lift borrowing costs to keep the economy expanding at a healthy pace.
