Tamil Nadu Records Nearly 18,000 Cases In A Day

Tamil Nadu recorded 17,934 new cases, 19 deaths and 4,039 recoveries in the last 24 hours, ANI reported. The active cases in the state now stand at 88,959.

Kerala Reports Over 12,500 New Covid Cases

Kerala added 12,742 new Covid cases to its tally on Wednesday, ANI reported citing government data. Daily recoveries were at 2,552 and fatalities at 23.

The state now has 54,430 active cases.

More Than 27,000 New Covid-19 Cases Recorded In Delhi

Delhi reported 27,561 new Covid-19 cases and 40 deaths in last 24 hours, ANI reported, citing government data.

The capital now has 87,445 active cases with 26.22% daily positivity rate.

Karnataka Logs Over 21,000 New Cases

Karnataka reported 21,390 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths today, ANI reported citing government data.

The state now has 93,099 active cases with 10.96% daily positivity rate.

Mumbai Adds Over 16,000 New Covid-19 Cases

Mumbai reported 16,420 fresh Covid-19 positive cases and seven deaths in the last 24 hours, ANI reported citing government data. The daily recoveries in the financial capital stood at 14,649.

Total 46,723 new coronavirus cases and 32 fatalities were reported from Maharashtra. The state now has 2.40 lakh active cases and 1,367 Omicron cases.

Hospital Admission Rate Has Not Risen In 4-5 Days: Delhi Health Minister 

Covid cases in Delhi continue to be above 20,000 but the positivity rate is stagnant at around 25% which is a good sign. Hospital admission rate has not risen in the past 4-5 days, if it continues, there will be some relief in restrictions reported ANI, quoting Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain

Health Secretary Writes To States As Covid Cases Rise

Health Secretary Rakesh Bhushan wrote to chief secretaries of all states asking them to ensure optimal medical-oxygen availability. He states that all health facilities should have a buffer stock of medical oxygen for at least 48 hours and has urged all states to ensure that all systems for proper oxygen supply are maintained and inventoried on a timely basis.

Fresh Covid-19 cases in India continued to spike as the Omicron variant spreads.

The nation reported as many as 1.94 lakh fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update at 8 a.m. on Jan. 12. That compares with 60,405 recoveries recorded during the period.
