India's daily Covid-19 infection rate remained below the 40,000-mark even as the nation's healthcare system braces for a third wave.
Nearly 35,500 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's Aug. 9 update. Fresh cases stayed below 40,000 for the third straight day.
India's active case load also dropped marginally to 4.02 lakh, as daily recoveries exceeded new cases.
