India's daily Covid-19 infection rate remained below the 40,000-mark for five days in a row even as an imminent third wave threatens to grip the nation.
More than 38,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours -- substantially higher than the previous day's 28,000 cases -- according to the Health Ministry's Aug. 11 update.
Daily recoveries continued to remain higher than daily infections, taking the country's active case load below 3.86 lakh, the lowest in 140 days.

India To Study Efficacy Of Mixing Covaxin, Covishield
The Drugs Controller General of India on Wednesday gave its approval for conducting a study to test the efficacy of administering two different vaccine doses -- Covaxin and Covishield -- to the same individual, reported ANI. This study and its clinical trials will be conducted by Christian Medical College, Vellore.
