Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India rose yet again to around 43,000 as an imminent third wave threatens the economy.
As many as 43,263 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Sept. 9.
Daily recoveries, at around 40,500, failed to exceed fresh cases, causing a marginal rise in the active case load to 3.93 lakh.
Active cases now account for 1.19% of the total cases in India, while the weekly positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 76 days.
