Coronavirus India Latest Updates: New Infections Fall To Lowest Since Feb. 2

India added the fewest coronavirus infections since Feb. 2 amid receding threat of a third wave.

The country added 8,865 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Nov. 16. That compares with nearly 11,971 daily recoveries.

Active cases, now at 1.30 lakh, account for 0.38% of total cases — the lowest since March 2020.

  • Total confirmed cases: 3,44,56,401

  • Total number of active cases: 1,30,793

  • Total patients cured/discharged/migrated: 3,38,61,756

  • Total deaths: 4,63,852

  • Number of fresh cases in last 24 hours: 8,865

  • One-day recoveries: 11,971

  • One-day deaths: 197

  • Vaccines administered in the last 24 hours: 59,75,469

  • Total vaccines given: 1,12,97,84,045
