Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Active Cases Rise For Second Day

India's active cases rose for the second day in a row but stayed below the one-lakh mark.

As many as 9,216 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Dec. 2. That compares with nearly 8,612 recoveries during the period.

India's active caseload now stands at 99,976, accounting for about 0.29% of the total cases.

That comes when at least two cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus were detected in Karnataka.
