India's active cases continued on their downward trajectory as the country's daily case count remained below the 20,000-mark for the eighth straight day.
As many as 15,891 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Oct. 16. That compares with 17,861 recoveries in the same period.
The active case load is now nearing the 2-lakh mark, which is the least since March 13 this year.
