Macron Popularity Up Slightly to 29 Points, IFOP Poll Shows

(Bloomberg) -- French President Emmanuel Macron’s popularity rose to 29 percent in March from 28 percent the month before, according to a poll by the IFOP survey group for the Journal du Dimanche.

The popularity of Prime Minister Edouard Philippe rose to 33 percent, up from 31 percent in February, according to the survey of 1,929 French adults, conducted from March 15 to 23.

IFOP polls show Macron’s popularity has climbed steadily from a low of 23 percent in December, when sometimes-violent Yellow Vests protests spread across France. Public support for the protests has fallen since then, and participation has declined.
