France, Top EU Corn Grower, Cuts Plantings to 25-Year Low: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- French farmers have fallen out of love with corn. Relatively low prices mean growers in the European Union’s top producer are expected to plant the smallest area in data going back to 1993, the Agriculture Ministry said. Sowings will be 12 percent below the five-year average, and that will probably keep the bloc’s imports near the highest in a decade.
