In Pictures: Cars You Should Check Out At Auto Expo 2020

We bring you the best of this year’s auto expo.

Automakers are displaying at least two dozen electric vehicles besides a host of other models at the Auto Expo 2020.

The biennial expo which opened for public on Friday saw the number of participants fall to 30 this year from 50 in the last edition, reflecting the industry’s worst slowdown in nearly two decades.

Electric concepts of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Tata Motors Ltd., Volkswagen, Renault, MG Motor and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. are the major crowd pullers.

China’s largest SUV carmaker, Great Wall Motors, along with Haima made their debut in this edition’s auto expo. The automakers have planned a slew of launches in the coming 12-18 months.

Great Wall Motors also showcased its R1 electric vehicle. The small electric car, which is part of sub-brand Ora, comes equipped with artificial intelligence and connectivity features.

The Future

Internet-connected, autonomous and electric. That’s what French carmaker Renault showcased as part of its concept called Symbioz. The car aims to be an extension of the driver’s home when not in use.

The Camper

If van life is your thing, Mercedes launched its Marco Polo camper van which comes with a sliding-door and pop-up roof that holds a sleeping area for two and can be extended for four people. The interior even has a kitchenette with two gas burners, a refrigerator and a sink connected to a water tank. This one is priced at Rs 1.38 crore.

Buggy Or Jet Ski?

Hyundai showcased its futuristic, all-electric Kite dune buggy concept at the Auto Expo 2020. The lightweight concept EV comes without doors with movable steering wheel from left to right side. The major highlight is still the fact the it can be converted from a two-seater dune buggy into a single-seater jet ski.
