Goldman Sachs Allows Bankers to Trade Bespoke Suits for Khakis

Goldman Sachs Group Inc., a bastion of buttoned-down Wall Street, told employees it’s loosening its fashion standards. 

(Bloomberg) -- Maybe it’s the kombucha on tap. Or it might be the influence of a new boss who moonlights as an electronic music DJ.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc., a bastion of buttoned-down Wall Street, told employees Tuesday it’s loosening its fashion standards. “We believe this is the right time to move to a firmwide flexible dress code,” wrote its three most senior leaders, who pushed for “good judgment in this regard.”

Wall Street’s sartorial expectations had already been slipping. To lure top tech talent, the bank relaxed its dress code for engineers years ago.
