German Trade Sees Record Drop as Virus Slams Borders Shut

(Bloomberg) -- German exports plummeted in March after coronavirus lockdowns around the world brought trade to a virtual standstill. The 11.8% decline was the steepest ever recorded since data collection started in 1990 and exceeded all but one estimate in a Bloomberg survey. Imports were down 5.1%, the most since the global financial crisis.
