Elon Musk Thinks Malaria Medicine Could Help Treat Coronavirus

(Bloomberg) -- Elon Musk has an idea for a possible coronavirus treatment -- a malaria medication known as chloroquine.

The Tesla CEO, who said he almost died from malaria back in 2000, on Monday tweeted a link to an academic paper that suggested chloroquine tablets could help coronavirus patients recover faster.

“I received chloroquine via central line through my chest & both arms,” Musk replied to a Twitter user who asked him if he had been treated with it when he had malaria. “Would’ve died for sure if not for chloroquine. Doesn’t mean it works for C19, but maybe better than nothing.”
