Management quality and track record of execution, diversified operations, financials and valuations, and technical capabilities—these four factors turned value investor Rikeen Dalal bullish on Deepak Nitrite Ltd.

“The company recently commissioned the largest phenol-acetone plant in the country and is already operating at 90 percent capacity utilisation, demonstrating its execution capability,” the market veteran said on the sidelines of the Alpha Ideas 20-20 event in Mumbai.

The company—the sole producer of sodium nitrite in India—enjoys a sizeable market share in most of the products that it sells and caters to a wide variety of customers, including from pharma, agrochemicals and dyes, among others, he said.
