Aveksat Financial Advisory’s Aveek Mitra thinks Greaves Cotton Ltd. is an “interesting idea”.

Though the stock has not done much in the last four years, high return ratios and healthy dividend makes this century-old diversified engineering company an attractive bet, the founder and chief executive officer at the investment and portfolio advisory firm said on the sidelines of Alpha Ideas 20-20 event in Mumbai.

The company has also announced a buyback at tender price, the lifetime high price for the share, Mitra said. “The goods and services tax induced long-term tailwinds and metro rail provides fillip.” Besides, its strong brand presence and customer base are other advantages, Mitra said.
