Some of India's top investors including Ashish Chugh, Nikhil Vora, and Gaurav Parikh discuss their best investment ideas at the Alpha Ideas 20-20 event in Mumbai.

Chugh, the founder of Hidden Gems Advisory, said the key to identifying multibaggers is that they are mispriced. “When a company that’s totally out of favour, not tracked by anyone, and surrounded by concerns about the business itself, suddenly starts performing, that’s when you get multibagger returns.”

For Nikhil Vora, Hindustan Foods is a clear opportunity as he expects them to hit the Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark by 2020.

Gaurav Parikh, on the other hand, opted for Bombay Dyeing. That's because of a rosy future for its real estate business which has the potential to strengthen its portfolio, Parikh said.

Private equity investors Anshuman Goenka went for a Tata Group firm -- Voltas Ltd. He said with the low penetration of air conditioners, rising temperatures, increasing affordability, and the stock being available on a discount to its peers, Voltas has enough headroom to grow even with markets at a record high.

While most stock-pickers selected fairly known names, Aurum Capital’s Niteen Dharmawat floated a SME pick -- Jash Engineering.
