The feud in the Yadav family won’t be coming to an end anytime soon it seems. The crisis in Samajwadi Party (SP) intensified after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday sacked his uncle and party state unit chief Shivpal Singh Yadav from the cabinet. Following that Shivpal Yadav expelled party’s General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav.

A clear rift in the party can be seen with Shivpal Yadav being backed by Amar Singh and other leaders including Azam Khan and Ram Gopal Yadav supporting Akhilesh.

A resolution at the meeting convened by Akhilesh unanimously decided to sack “those close to Amar Singh”. Jaya Prada, a close aide of Amar Singh, has also been removed as the head of the UP’s Film Promotion Board.
