A decline in yields across three-year to 10-year tenor led to a more than two-fold surge in private placements this week.

Indian firms raised as much as Rs 8,900 crore this week as compared to Rs 4,200 crore last week, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Power Finance Corporation Ltd. was the biggest borrower, followed by IDBI Bank Ltd. and HDFC Ltd.

Analysts however see a slowdown in fund raising activity next week as investors await more cues from the Union Budget on February 1 and the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy on February 7.
