The Assam Assembly on August 12 became the first state to ratify the GST Constitution Amendment Bill. Bihar and Madhya Pradesh assemblies and a few other states have called for special sessions to ratify the Bill over the next few days.

As the progress on implementing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) picks up pace, businesses, especially small and medium-sized businesses, need to prepare for its implementation with greater urgency.

BloombergQuint spoke to Badri Narayanan, Partner, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Anurag Katriar, chief executive officer and executive director of deGustibus Hospitality, that owns and operates restaurant brands like Indigo Deli, Nilesh Gupta, managing director of electronics and household appliance retail chain Vijay Sales and Zakkir Ahmed Kalarikkal of Trust Travel & Tours to find out how these businesses are hoping to get GST-ready.
